The story behind Vida Violet

Some of my earliest memories are of picking flowers in my mum’s garden. I was a magpie back then, yet now it’s the quiet berry that catches my eye.

I’ve been drawn to flowers for as long as I can remember, but it was during my time training in London, and later working with Wild at Heart, that I began to understand the creative scope of floral design and what it can truly become.

My work is instinct-led and seasonal. I don’t follow a set formula I’m more interested in what’s available, what’s shifting, and what feels right in the moment. There’s something I really value in working with nature as it is, rather than trying to perfect it.

These days, I’m especially drawn to the quieter side of floral design - where form, texture, and movement can speak without needing to be overworked. I also enjoy creating larger, immersive pieces when a project calls for it, especially where they can transform and define a space.

Whether I’m designing for an event or spending time in someone’s garden gathering personal treasures, the intention is always the same: to make something personal, considered, and at home in its space.

It’s less about perfect arrangements and more about noticing what’s already beautiful then shaping it, just enough.

I look forward to one day hearing your story.
